(St. Louis Business Journal) Benson Hill to sublease part of headquarters to another firm

January 3, 2025

Food tech firm Benson Hill (Nasdaq: BHIL) will sublease part of its Creve Coeur office building to agriculture company NewLeaf Symbiotics, according to a lease agreement included in Benson Hill’s filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

NewLeaf plans to move into 28,875 square feet on the first floor of Benson Hill’s EDGE@BRDG building at 1001 N. Warson Road in Creve Coeur, according to a lease amendment Benson Hill submitted to federal regulators. NewLeaf is currently based in another building at 1005 N. Warson in BRDG Park at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center campus, the same business park where EDGE is also located. The firm had tripled its footprint in that prior space by 2021.

The building, originally intended as multi-tenant office space, was instead completely occupied by lone tenant Benson Hill, then a rapidly growing agtech firm going public, when it opened in 2020. Built for $52 million, Edge@BRDG fetched $92 million when it was purchased in 2021 by Chicago-based Harrison Real Estate Capital. It was sold by the developer, a joint venture between two St. Louis-based companies, Larson Capital Management and Seneca Commercial Real Estate. Read the full article here.
